====[ Specific Site Agreement ]====
1. Ownership of any images hosted on this site will not change because they were posted. I will not use photos for advertising purposes or any other uses I can't currently think of without the owners permission. The site owners cannot make the same claim for photos not hosted on this server such as Flickr or Photo Bucket which maintain their own license agreement. You are advised to review their license agreements before posting pictures you wish to retain control of.
2. In order to properly maintain the forums, accounts that reach six months with zero posts and no visits to the forums during that time period will be sent an e-mail reminder. Seven days after the e-mail is sent, if there is still no activity, the account will be removed.
3. In order to slow the tide of spam, I've implemented the pre-approval options for the forum. That means you can create an account but you won't be able to log in until I or a moderator approves the account. It's a formality as we're only trying to stop the spammers that use scripts to create and spam forums. I do try to keep on top of the new accounts. But it may take a day or at most, two to get your account approved.
4. The site owner or authorized moderators can ban members for short periods up to permanent bans for any reason and with no warning. As a rule, you'll have to be pretty bad to get banned without a warning. Send an e-mail to the site admin in case you are banned if you want more information.
5. Rules are posted in the forums regarding site expectations including inappropriate postings. By requesting an account, you are agreeing to abide by these rules.
====[ Administrative Notice! ]====
shaw.ca is refusing our e-mail but apparently do not use a white list. I've contacted them. They depend on a blackhole site to block e-mail but don't provide a way for me to fix it other than to move the forums to a different server entirely. Of course I'd have no guarantee that whatever new service provider I pick would work with them or not have problems with other ISPs.
sympatico.ca uses Microsoft to manage their e-mail. I've contacted Microsoft and they are using a blackhole site as well but their way for me to "fix" it is to subscribe to their "authorized resellers" white list which has a price associated with it. (So I would pay to "spam" their users, how special.)
I'd suggest that if you're using shaw.ca or sympatico.ca, you might create an e-mail account on Yahoo, GMail, Hotmail, or other free mail site just for this forum. Otherwise, you probably will not be able to receive e-mails from here such as password resets, thread notifications, or personal message notifications.
This is also true for members that use mxlogicmx.com to filter their e-mail. We're on their list and there no way to clear the site from their lists.
This is something to consider for folks on personal servers or servers hosted through a web hosting site, much like this one. If you don't receive a confirmation e-mail within a day or two, try to log in anyway. We're generally pretty quick with approving people.
