Learning new toys
« on: March 18, 2015, 04:29:08 PM »
I borrowed a graphite tool that you roll your hot glass in to shape it, and the practice beads are going to my nephew to use in the wind chimes he's making.  They live pretty far from family, and he wanted a little family in there so they would feel closer to us.  I made them from transparent glass to catch the light, and the note going with them says each time they see the light sparkle, that's hugs from us.
I really just want to post something because it's been quiet, and this is what I had handy   ;)
(PS.  The long ones are just shy of an inch long)

Me too, they really catch the light.  I've made ridges using a knife or other tool before, but this makes them so even!

Yep it has been too quiet here!

Love these beads Eileen and this is a wonderful way for them to have a piece of family with them!

I will be sending the graphite roller that does the long ones on soon, so it's nice he asked when he did.

They were fun, but I don't make them with the graphite cavity to roll them in very often.  I am currently having fun with the silver laden glasses that change color depending on how it is worked in the flame as a reward for the sculpture & other decoration type beads.

One for the kids at Beads of Courage from the other day, and one of the silver glass experiments, just for fun.

Fabulous beads, Eileen!!  I especially love the caterpillar!  do you sell these or make jewelry with them?

Thank you!
I donate the kid friendly ones to Beads of Courage.
My favorites I just wire very simply so I can wear them on a chain
I did sell one bead online, auctioned off this one just to try it:
